Aw gawd… i read it. And my reaction is… "That's it?!!" No improvements. Still the same plot. Bland and tasteless. And it gives me an impression that mags is really disturbed. She turned the visionaries into nazis and commiting genocide to the transformers. And keeps glorifying it in every issues. As if the visionaries are really the villain. And more deaths for the transformers, but no deaths for the visionaries. And not to mention, the visionaries characters are acting like children, as if they can't think and do logically at all. The transformers are portraited as simpletons and naive. By the way, were are the discepticons?
The part that didn't make sense is the drilling into the planet to find this talisman that is terraforming Cybertron. If Quickswitch dies, I guess, for getting too close to the talisman then why didn't the other transformers die or start dying for being too close once they departed Quickswitch? Also it made no sense to attach the "bomb" to Quickswitch if they were going with him anyway. I'm assuming Arzon was able to arrive where they were so quickly because Merklynn used his magic to teleport them there? As a side note, the gimmick of holograms on the toys back in the day represented the manifestation of their magical totems. They weren't referred to as holograms in the cartoon that I recall. I would give the story about a C. It still feels like a pack-in comic to a toy line like the ones we use to get in the 80s just a bit more wordy.
I interviewed David Michelinie on my podcast My Star Wars story. He is more than willing to write new Spider-Man, new Star Wars, new whatever, and he's still on his game. BUT he's old, so he's not going to get a shot.
Wow. This is bad. I'm pretty much the target demographic for these kinds of stories, being a huge crossover fan who also grew up in the 80s and loved the franchises IDW has made into one universe. And that includes the Visionaries. I had the toys, I watched the cartoon, Hell, I own bootleg DVDs of the cartoon and watch them as an adult. Stop laughing, I'm making a point here.
The point being that I should be first in line to buy a book like this. I'm the exact person this book should have been made for. Instead, I see names I recognize on characters I don't, I see a poorly written dialogue, and a writer who really doesn't get what made the original run fun. If they can't get ME to buy this book, then it's got no chance.
I used to love Visionaries. I only ever caught a couple of episodes when I was younger but I used to think about them all the time. Then I downloaded all of the episodes and watched them, now I regret ever telling people that I liked them. People like Mags like Visionaries because they don't think about the reality of carrying around a big banner with a limited use spell in it. Visionaries was terrible, and will continue to be terrible.
You hit the nail on the head. This is not happening because solid writers don't exist. Solid writers such as William Messner-Loebs do exist, but they are unemployable because jobs are assigned politically.
If you are to make a company you'll need to do a Heavy Metal style magazine. Short stories to fill the pages. Commissions and royalties is most likely a thing. Probably won't be able to get top writers and artists unless they're willing to take half pay and royalties. Selling subscriptions and not stocks is the best way because there can only be one boss incharge so the company can't be usurp in any way. Hiring a wordsmith to make the contracts is a very good idea too. Just a regular layer works but a wordsmith I believe can make a better ironclad contract and also will explain better if you're unsure about the wherefores and whys.
Greed gives the illusion of creation as it destroys. So don't fall into the trap of thinking you deserve more then a base salary. Any and all profits roll back into the company. You don't get a raise until all debts are paid. Kickstarter and maybe a loan may get the ball rolling. Before that you need stories that can be produced. I'm sure you can get some from fans. Depending on the contract you sign with them will depend on the deal. Getting submissions to look through will only cost you time. You can probably get artist to submit work too.
Working out of the trunk of your car seems like it's just stories from the past. It'll still work today as it did back then. It's just if you're willing to put in all the work for minimum wage. Then maybe you luck out and it starts making money after ten or more years.
I say you put out feelers and try to get the unhappy pros on board. Theres only so long the SJWs and their media pals can keep banging the same "alt right nazis" drum. It'll take time and wont be easy but once the new company is churning out good comics the spotlight and consumer base will shift and the SJW journalists wont have a leg to stand on
This comic is proof that even SJW comic fans have their limits. The Transformers comic fandom is SUPER liberal, as evidenced by their praise of the LGBTQIA SJW nonsense in Lost Light and rallying around Scarlet’s Strike Force. But even that super liberal fanbase overwhelmingly hates this miniseries, despite the writer’s status as SJW-Prime.
I feel you man. Sometimes the problem relies on the fact that those artists living in their cars don't know how to market themselves out.
They lost the license so soon, the long nightmare in print form will finally be over.

The coloring is bad enough and then you kept moving the camera around, was hard to sit thru this video.

I live in Austin. Lets do a D&C meetup sometime!
Maybe it's just me but, for a Transformers story, there sure are a lot of humans running their mouths in front and center roles.
Why do they keep hiring a dead horse? There is literally no money to be made.
Artwork is ok, the noses are way to big on the characters though
$4 for this garbage too
You hit the nail on the head. This is not happening because solid writers don't exist. Solid writers such as William Messner-Loebs do exist, but they are unemployable because jobs are assigned politically.
Why don't the Transformers just shoot the Visionaries with their gigantic laser guns?

"Its your boy" lol
On his period this guy today. Watch out.
Says its the worst comic ever, then dedicates an entire video to it….
I couldnt even finish his video. Fuck your Red Pill. Come back to reality.

Actually Mags didn't create the psychopath only violent dumbness.
whats considered a "good" sales count for comic these days? or then even?
I remember Visionaries, the cartoon and toys. I thought I was the only one. 😀
I wouldn't waste my time on a comic with panels with THAT MUCH FUCKING DIALOGUE. Holy shit dude mad kudos to you for being able to read it all…
Not every comic has to be watchmen.
…isnt this a visual medium?? Show us the story instead of telling us. WHAT A CONCEPT.
Wayyyyy too much dialogue. Comics should never have pounds and pounds of dialogue like that.
They figure that pretty good to excellent Art will be enough to hide the drivel writing.
